Oud Saphir, 2022,24th Edition of Kuangjing Agarwood (Indigo Agarwood) 100ml

The first sniff is a sudden chill. Pepper, mingled with bergamot (Is bergamot the same as bergamot?), washes over you, a metallic sheen sweeping across your vision as he pushes the door.

A few minutes later, the initial chill melts away, the leather soft, seemingly laced with the sweetness of playful berries (think blackcurrant or raspberry), a testament to the unwavering innocence of his persistence.

The fruity and powdery notes here aren’t overly sweet, but rather make the scent gentle and alluring. The smoky aroma in this perfume might be the lingering traces of documents burned in a porcelain basin on his collar, or perhaps the lingering warmth of his ideals from 1948.

A few hours after applying it to my skin, everything finally settles. Musk and vanilla cling to my skin. Gently and persistently, he finally removes his mask, revealing those unguarded eyes.

This perfume is intense and overbearing, yet also playful, even innocent.

The name of this fragrance contains agarwood, but I can’t smell it.
