The inspiration for this perfume comes from an emerald-green glass apothecary bottle found at an antique market. Legend has it that it contained the “elixir of life” from a medieval pharmacist. Perfumers discovered an emerald-green glass apothecary bottle in a corner of an antique market. This was the container used by aristocrats to store their aromatherapy tinctures, which held miraculous healing properties. The most famous of these is the “Queen of Hungary Water,” which is said to have the power to preserve youth and is known as the “miracle water.” Although legendary, its unique aromas, including thyme and rosemary, inspired Jo Malone to recreate the scent of the elixir of life, a fundamental ancient aromatherapy method passed down for thousands of years. Using our exquisite perfumery skills, we have recreated this magical healing aroma, bringing peace of mind and body to the mere smell of it.
