The previously gentle and elegant jasmine scent, like a gentle woman from the Jiangnan water towns, is now combined with the cool aroma of tobacco. This combination itself is a stark contrast. The tobacco here resembles burnt ash, darkened to the dust, and a wisp of jasmine’s ghost wafts through. The contrast of cold and warm, light and dark, soft and hard, blended with the subtle sweetness of vanilla, reveals a more distinct oriental character. It is so beautiful that perhaps even a moment of her tenderness would require the price of one’s own life.
